Absolute Blue

Imagine a reality in which nothing exists but the color blue. A reality made of only Absolute Blue. Infinite Blue in all directions, forever. Eternal Blue. Now, you’d think that even if there could be such a reality — too bad — since no one would be around to see it. But you’d be wrong.

Get this: Blue sees itself.

What?? That’s impossible!

It’s possible because Blue is true, and Truth is self-luminous. Blue is conscious simply because it exists, and existence is Absolute Truth. No brain is needed to be conscious. No eyes are needed to see. Only Truth is needed. Blue is conscious because it is true. This is how deeply humans misunderstand what Consciousness is. You are not conscious because you have a brain, you are conscious because you are Truth. Consciousness is Truth. You perceive things because you are Truth and truths arise in You. You are not a brain nor a body, you are Truth. Therefore, anything true is visible to you.

If you are needed to see a tree for the tree to be visible, then who is needed to see you? A brain? No! Since who sees the brain? The thing that sees cannot be biological nor even material. It’s Truth! Truth sees everything: the tree, you, your brain. But who sees Truth? That’s the beauty of it — No one! Truth sees itself. But how is it possible for Truth to see itself? That the beauty of existence: Truth is magic! Truth is so powerful it’s the only thing that can see itself. Truth is so brilliant it literally shines, and in so doing illuminates all things. That’s the irreducible mystery. Truth is actual ontological Mystery. Mystery is not a mistake nor a lack of epistemic certainty. Mystery is the necessary logical consequence of Infinity! Infinity is Absolutely Unknowable.

Such is the power of Truth.

The difference between me and a scientist or a philosopher or some New Ager or some nondual meditator is that I understand that Blue is conscious of itself, and they don’t. This is the consequence of understanding Truth, which is the consequence of real truth-seeking and not some ancillary pursuit like transcending suffering, realizing no-self, or accessing some Buddhist jhana. Awakening is the realization of Absolute Truth. If it’s merely phenomenological and not ontological then it doesn’t deserve to be called Awakening.

Now, imagine a reality that’s Absolute Green. Another that’s Absolute Red. Another that’s Absolute Yellow… Absolute Silk. Absolute Hairy. Absolute Slime. Absolute Parmesan Cheese. Absolute Whipped Cream. Absolute Skunk Stink. Absolute Lemon Juice. Absolute Pine Nuts. Absolute Diamond. Absolute Lava. Absolute Pixie Dust. Absolute Goblin Juice. Keep imagining more absolute realities forever. Now imagine that God can sample from any of these realities to weave together your present experience. That gives you a taste of what I mean by Infinity/God.

Such is the ultimate nature of Reality. Known to but a handful of people on this planet. This is the understanding you get when you take truth-seeking seriously and don’t dick around with human nonsense.
